Youth ChexWhat is Youth Chex? Youth Chex is a unique grant giving project that puts young people in charge. Young people decide what type of projects they want to do and Youth Chex gives them, not adults, the money to do it. Anything is possible, the sky’s the limit! Each of the five areas in the Borders has 10 young people to distribute £14,000. It’s up to young people aged 12 - 25 to decide what they want to do with it, as long as it benefits young people and the community - they have until September 2007 to spend it. Adults are around to give advice, support, and any contacts that might come in useful. What’s happened so far? Over £45,000 awarded to young people's projects across the Scottish Borders. Panel members have volunteered over 4,000 hours for Youth Chex. Nearly 80 projects have been funded.
