Scottish Borders Council Corporate Training and Development

The SBC in-house training and development programme is for all Council employees. It is also available to people working with NHS Borders, Lothian and Borders Police and the voluntary sector.
The training in our programme is divided into:
·          Customer service
·          Management development
·          Organisational development
·          Personal development
·          Health and Safety
·          Information Technology
·          Welfare benefits
The programme is produced annually and covers the period April to March. It is distributed throughout the Council and to other interested parties. The programme is also available on the Council’s Intranet.
In addition the training and development team offer a consultancy service to design and develop training to meet particular needs not covered by the programme.
As an alternative to training courses the team also offer a range of CD ROM based training in the Learning Resource Centre located in the Old School building at Council Headquarters.
