Jedburgh

The Locality Integration Team (LIT), formed in December 2004, has various members drawn from Health, Education, Social Work, Family Support Services, Police and various Voluntary Agencies (both local and Borders wide).

The Jedburgh Area LIT covers the catchment area of Jedburgh Grammar and the communities that contain its respective feeder Primary Schools, with two exceptions. Kirkhope Primary and Denholm Primary Schools, and the communities that they serve, are covered by the Hawick LIT and therefore are not involved in the Jedburgh Area Team. The Jedburgh Area encompasses the communities of Ancrum and Oxnam and is served by three Primary Schools: Howdenburn Primary, Parkside Primary and Ancrum Primary.

Out of a total population of 23,599 (2001 census) there are 1,369 children and young people living in the area which is 5.80% of the 0-18 population of the Scottish Borders area. The picture is very similar in the under 5 age range with 386 children which is 5.66% of the under 5 Borders population.

Jedburgh is the largest population centre in the area, which serves a number of small and medium sized villages over a large geographic area.
